Israeli jets target residential building in eastern Gaza

Gaza Herald – Israeli warplanes destroyed a multi-story residential building near Askoula Roundabout in Gaza’s Zeitoun neighborhood on Friday evening, local reporters said. The Khudair building was completely flattened after residents received only a few minutes’ warning to evacuate.

The attack was part of ongoing violations by Israeli forces of the US-brokered ceasefire, which has been in effect since October 2025 under Qatari, Egyptian, and Turkish mediation.

Earlier, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that two Palestinians were shot by Israeli forces in and around Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, while Israeli tanks targeted displaced persons’ tents south of Khan Younis, injuring several people.

These strikes continued despite the ceasefire’s promise of protection for civilians, and come amid rising concerns over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where essential services and infrastructure remain devastated after two years of genocide.
