Gaza University Strike Kills Three, Injures Five in Second Attack

Gaza Herald – Three Palestinians were killed and several others injured today, Sunday, following a second Israeli military raid on the campus of the Islamic University located west of Gaza City. The attack occurred just hours after a separate incident involving a drone that targeted students within the same grounds.

According to local sources, the initial strike by an Israeli drone earlier in the day hit a gathering of students inside the university premises. This first assault resulted in injuries to more than five Palestinians, with medical reports indicating that some victims are in critical condition.

In response to the violence on its grounds, the administration of the Islamic University announced the suspension of both academic and administrative operations at its Gaza branch for the day. The decision was made directly following the targeting of the campus which caused casualties among those present.

The second raid on the university campus later in the day led to the death of three Palestinians and additional injuries. Local witnesses confirmed the fatalities and the severity of the wounds sustained during this subsequent wave of attacks.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that four bodies and fourteen wounded individuals arrived at hospitals across the Strip over the past twenty-four hours due to the ongoing offensive. These figures reflect the immediate toll of the continued hostilities.

Statistical data released by the ministry indicates that since the ceasefire agreement entered into force on October 11, 2025, the total number of martyrs has reached 1,551. Additionally, there have been 5,573 recorded injuries. During this same period, the remains of 842 martyrs were recovered.

Cumulative statistics from the beginning of the war show a total of 74,544 martyrs and 175,692 injured persons. Despite the implementation of the truce deal, attacks continue to result in rising casualty numbers and worsening humanitarian and health conditions in the sector.
