Gaza Herald _Civil society organizations in Norway have filed a criminal complaint against Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, the Minister of Finance, and other officials, accusing them of complicity in Israeli crimes due to the fund’s investments in companies allegedly involved in supporting Israel’s illegal occupation.
The complainants stated that these investments constitute a clear violation of international humanitarian law and human rights principles that Norway officially upholds, noting that Norwegian public funds are being indirectly used to finance activities that entrench the occupation and contribute to serious violations, including settlement expansion and attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
They called for an urgent and independent criminal investigation and for holding all those responsible accountable, in addition to an immediate halt to all investments linked to companies supporting the occupation. They stressed that continuing this approach threatens Norway’s international reputation and moral standing and places it in the position of being a partner in the crimes committed.
