Hamas Meets Turkish Intelligence Chief to Push Gaza Ceasefire Plan

Gaza Herald – A Hamas delegation met with Turkey’s intelligence chief, Ibrahim Kalin, in Istanbul on Saturday, discussing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire and reviewing progress on the first phase.

The delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza, and included West Bank chief Zahir Jabareen, senior leader Mahmoud Mardawi, and the movement’s Turkey representative Musa Akkari.

The talks focused on implementing the National Committee to manage Gaza, reopening the Rafah crossing in both directions, and delivering urgent aid and shelter supplies to address the humanitarian crisis. Hamas praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his role in facilitating the ceasefire agreement.

Hamas reiterated its commitment to the ceasefire despite ongoing Israeli violations, emphasizing the need for the “Peace Council” to enforce the agreement and ensure aid delivery, reconstruction, and protection of civilians facing extreme cold and flooding in Gaza.
