Gaza Herald- The head of the Palestinian NGO Network in Gaza warned that 90% of the population relies directly on humanitarian aid amid increasingly dire conditions.
At least 18,500 patients urgently need treatment outside the enclave, while many children have fallen ill from extreme cold, with some cases resulting in death.
Maher Al-Tiba’a, head of Gaza’s Chamber of Commerce, added that the economic situation is catastrophic: more than 85% of businesses have been destroyed, purchasing power has nearly collapsed, and unemployment has surged past 78%, among the highest rates globally.
Officials called for immediate pressure on Israel to open crossings and allow aid into Gaza, urging U.S. envoys Steve Whitcove and Jared Kushner to take urgent action to address both the humanitarian and economic crises.
