Gaza Herald – A Palestinian female high school student was killed on Monday morning after an Israeli airstrike struck Gaza City while she was on her way to sit for her final secondary school examinations, turning what should have been a milestone of hope into another tragedy of genocide.
Raghad Ashour, a student preparing to take her Tawjihi exam, was reportedly heading to a location equipped with electricity and internet access when the strike occurred. Like thousands of students across Gaza, she was forced to rely on alternative venues to complete her exams amid the destruction of schools and the collapse of basic infrastructure.
In a separate incident, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that one woman was killed and three others injured after an Israeli strike targeted a vehicle near Al-Rahab Mall, close to the headquarters of the Palestinian telecommunications company in western Gaza City. Medical teams responded to the scene and transported the casualties for treatment.
The attacks came as local authorities documented additional ceasefire violations across the Gaza Strip, including shootings and attacks targeting civilian areas in Gaza City and Khan Younis.
More than 37,000 students in Gaza are currently sitting for their secondary school examinations under extraordinary wartime conditions. With schools destroyed or inaccessible, exams are being conducted entirely online, forcing students to travel daily to cafés and makeshift centers where electricity and internet services are available.
For many young Palestinians, education has become an act of resilience amid war. Yet the death of Raghad Ashour underscores the dangers facing students who continue to pursue their studies despite bombardment, displacement, and the collapse of civilian life across the besieged enclave.
