Gaza Herald _Gaza’s Health Ministry announced on Saturday that eight more Palestinians arrived at hospitals across the Strip over the past 48 hours, including seven newly killed victims and one body recovered from beneath the rubble, amid the continued Israeli military assault on Gaza.
The ministry said 29 additional people were wounded during the same period as attacks and bombardment persisted across different areas of the enclave.
In its statement, the ministry noted that several victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or lying in inaccessible areas. At the same time, ambulance and civil defense crews continue to face major difficulties reaching them due to ongoing military operations and restrictions on rescue movement.
According to the ministry’s figures, since the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, at least 890 Palestinians have been killed and 2,677 others injured. The ministry also reported the recovery of 777 bodies from destroyed and previously inaccessible areas, underscoring the scale of devastation and the continued challenges in retrieving victims.
The ministry added that the overall death toll since the start of Israel’s military offensive on October 7, 2023, has now risen to 72,783 Palestinians killed, while the number of wounded has climbed to 172,779.
