Iran Chief of Staff Vows to Repel Aggression With Greater Force

Gaza Herald – Abdulrahim Mousavi, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, stated that Iranian forces would confront any aggression with significantly greater force than in previous encounters. He emphasized during press statements on Monday that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps exercises complete control over the Strait of Hormuz while monitoring all movements in Gulf waters.

Mousavi added that Iranian naval forces are actively observing the Sea of Oman and its coasts, tracking enemy movements in the region. He stressed that the navy will not permit non-compliant ships to pass through the area. The chief of staff asserted that no vessel is allowed to cross the Strait of Hormuz outside the arrangements determined by Iran.

He warned that any ship attempting to navigate through the strait outside the path designated by Tehran would suffer serious damage. This stance reinforces Iran’s position regarding maritime security and navigation rights within its strategic waterways. The comments highlight the heightened tensions surrounding shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf.

Iran continues to link the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of negotiations to the fulfillment of its demands. Meanwhile, the United States maintains a naval blockade on Iranian ports. This dynamic has led to an exchange of threats concerning ship movements and maritime passages between the two nations.

Risks at sea have escalated in recent weeks due to increased attacks and warnings targeting vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman. Consequently, oil transport traffic through the strait has dropped to levels far below usual rates. These developments exacerbate concerns about the confrontation expanding to include additional sea routes.

The situation also raises fears regarding the impact on global energy supplies. Disagreements over ceasefire conditions and freedom of navigation continue to hinder efforts to reach a settlement. The ongoing military posturing suggests that diplomatic solutions remain distant amidst the escalating regional instability.
