Gaza Herald – For the 129th consecutive day, Israeli forces violated the Gaza ceasefire, carrying out a combination of artillery shelling, airstrikes, and sporadic gunfire across multiple areas of the Strip. The sustained attacks continue to inflict casualties and reinforce a precarious security environment where the ceasefire has effectively lost its meaning.
On Tuesday morning, Israeli artillery targeted eastern Khan Yunis in the south, while airstrikes hit Rafah city and eastern parts of Khan Yunis. Observers note these operations as part of a continuing pattern of military escalation despite the ongoing truce.
Cumulative figures indicate that since the ceasefire began, 630 Palestinians have been killed, including 194 children, 84 women, and 22 elderly civilians, representing nearly 48% of the victims from the most vulnerable groups. Another 1,623 individuals have been injured, including 501 children, 324 women, and 89 elderly, accounting for roughly 56% of all casualties.
Documented violations tally 1,734 incidents over the 129 days, comprising 793 artillery or airstrikes, 617 gunfire incidents, 241 house demolitions, and multiple incursions by military vehicles along border areas. This averages approximately 13.6 breaches per day, illustrating a systematic disregard for the terms of the truce.
The recent strikes on eastern Khan Yunis and Rafah exemplify the ongoing escalation in southern Gaza, areas that were supposed to experience redeployment and reduced hostilities under the ceasefire. Instead, the ground reality reflects sustained fire control and continued exposure of civilians to military operations.
