UN Raises Alarm as Four Gaza Children Are Killed Amid Aid Destruction

Gaza Herald— Four Palestinian children have been killed in new Israeli attacks across Gaza, which also destroyed vital humanitarian supplies and critical water infrastructure, escalating the targeted destruction of the enclave’s civilian survival systems.

Two of the children killed were young boys, aged 2 and 4, who died in separate bombardments. A 10-year-old girl sustained serious injuries from Israeli ground fire while inside her family’s tent, and a 16-year-old boy died from injuries inflicted in an earlier attack.

Children in Gaza face a dual threat: direct military violence and the systematic destruction of essential life-support systems.

“Children are being killed and injured, while those who survive are suffering from the destruction of the essential services and supplies they depend on,” stated Edward Beigbeder, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

The casualties coincided with further destruction of Gaza’s fragile humanitarian infrastructure. An Israeli bombardment destroyed a UNICEF warehouse containing over $770,000 worth of life-saving nutritional supplies designated for malnourished children and vulnerable families facing enforced starvation conditions.

Israeli strikes also targeted critical water infrastructure in Deir al-Balah, inflicting extensive damage on a local water well and a main desalination facility. The targeted facility served as the primary source of clean drinking water for more than 4,000 residents, including approximately 2,000 children, in an area already suffering from severe water shortages.

The destruction of water systems, nutritional supplies, and health facilities forms part of a broader pattern exposing children to extreme deprivation. For thousands of displaced families living in temporary tent camps, the destruction of basic utilities directly threatens daily survival.

Humanitarian organizations continue to emphasize that protecting children requires an immediate end to military attacks and the deliberate destruction of clean water, food supplies, healthcare, and basic infrastructure across Gaza.
