Israeli Forces Intensify Ceasefire Violations in Gaza with Demolitions and Heavy Bombardment

Gaza Herald – Israeli forces continued breaching the Gaza ceasefire for the 123rd consecutive day, carrying out home demolitions, airstrikes, and artillery shelling across multiple areas of the enclave. Medical sources reported that a child was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the Batn al-Sameen area, south of Khan Younis.

Warplanes conducted low-altitude flights over Gaza City as heavy artillery targeted eastern neighborhoods, including Al-Tuffah. In southern Gaza, airstrikes hit eastern Khan Younis, while military vehicles opened intense fire in the city center and demolished residential buildings. The escalation unfolded amid worsening humanitarian conditions despite the limited reopening of the Rafah crossing.

On Tuesday, Gaza’s Government Media Office said Israeli forces had committed 1,620 ceasefire violations over four months, killing 573 Palestinians and injuring 1,553 others, 99% of them civilians, including 292 women and children. Hamas described the military escalation as a dangerous and unprecedented breach of the ceasefire, accusing Israel of deliberately undermining efforts to maintain stability.

The United Nations warned of grave risks to civilians from continued air, artillery, and naval strikes, stressing the need to uphold international humanitarian law and ensure the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs also renewed calls to lift restrictions on humanitarian operations and allow unimpeded access for aid and essential supplies.
