While the officials, who spoke anonymously, did not confirm whether the Palestinians were detainees or civilians, they acknowledged that the US government possessed detailed evidence of the policy. In response to the report, the Israeli military claimed that it “prohibits the use of civilians as human shields,” while also confirming that its Military Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating “suspicions involving Palestinians in military missions.”

The fact that Washington collected evidence of war crimes, yet continued to supply Israel with weapons and political protection, reflects a crisis of global ethics.
Israel’s use of human shields, its torture of prisoners, and its desecration of Palestinian bodies are not isolated incidents. They are the hallmarks of a system rooted in domination and racial supremacy, one sustained by Western complicity and silence.
