Israeli Shelling, Demolitions Escalate in Eastern Gaza Strip

Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip on Monday through intensified shelling, live fire, and demolition operations targeting remaining structures in the eastern areas of the enclave.

Local sources reported that Israeli artillery heavily shelled the eastern areas of Khan Younis early in the morning, accompanied by sustained gunfire.

Simultaneously, large-scale demolition operations were carried out east of Gaza City and Khan Younis, with powerful explosions heard as buildings were destroyed.

These actions come amid ongoing ceasefire violations, including aerial and artillery attacks on areas sheltering displaced civilians, as well as systematic destruction within what is referred to as the “yellow zone.” Restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel also remain in place.

According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, has risen to 809, with 2,267 injuries and 761 bodies recovered.

The overall toll since October 7, 2023, has reached approximately 72,585 killed and 172,370 injuries, underscoring the severe human cost of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
