Hamas Slams Netanyahu’s “New Regional Axis” as Direct Threat to Arab Sovereignty

Gaza Herald – Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem announced Sunday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks about forming a new regional axis that would include Arab states constituted a “blatant affront” to Arab nations and a direct threat to their strategic interests.

Qassem stated that Netanyahu’s proposal reflected disregard for the political weight and standing of key Arab countries in the region.

He argued that Israel, which he described as alien to the region’s history and fabric, sought to position itself as the leader of regional alliances with explicit backing from the United States.

According to Qassem, such proposals relied on what he characterized as the weakness of the broader Arab response during the genocide on Gaza.

Qassem stressed that any regional arrangements that sideline Palestinian rights would fail to deliver stability and would instead deepen regional tensions.
