Gaza Herald – Hamas announced it is prepared to “immediately sit at the negotiating table” following what it described as proposals from the U.S. aimed at reaching a ceasefire.
The statement came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump said he had issued his “last warning” to Hamas to accept a deal for the release of captives in Gaza.
“Hamas welcomes any initiative supporting efforts to end the aggression against our people and affirms its readiness to immediately discuss the release of all prisoners,” the Palestinian group said.
In exchange, Hamas demands a “clear declaration of the end of the war, a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and the formation of an independent Palestinian committee to manage the Strip immediately.”
Trump earlier stressed: “The Israelis have accepted my terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning.”
