Gaza Herald- Israeli airstrikes and shelling flattened more than 50 buildings and partially damaged roughly 100 others across Gaza City on Sunday, according to the city’s Civil Defense service. High-rise structures housing thousands of civilians were among those hit.
Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said Israeli forces deliberately targeted areas surrounded by tents and shelter centers, destroying over 200 tents in the process. Attacks also struck remaining mosques and sports facilities, he added.
Basal reported that the emergency teams received distress calls from citizens trapped under rubble in al-Zarqa, al-Tuffah neighborhood, after a building was bombed without warning.
“Our crews are exhausted. Today is one of the hardest days of the war since it resumed on March 18, 2025,” Basal said, urging the international community to intervene and halt the ongoing massacres in Gaza City.
