Gaza Herald – The Gaza Health Ministry announced on Monday, October 26, 2026, that eleven Palestinians were killed and thirty-five others wounded within the past twenty-four hours. These casualties resulted from continued Israeli military attacks involving shelling and gunfire across the Gaza Strip.
The ministry stated that the daily toll includes eight new martyrs and three bodies recovered from beneath rubble. This brings the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire agreement entered into force on October 11, 2025, to one thousand five hundred fifty-nine.
Additionally, the ministry reported five thousand six hundred eight injuries during this period. Since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, the cumulative death toll has reached seventy-four thousand five hundred fifty-five, with one hundred seventy-five thousand seven hundred twenty-seven injured.
In the latest incidents, three Palestinians were killed, including a child, following shelling and gunfire in the Mawasi area southwest of Khan Younis. Local sources identified the victims as seven-year-old Jouri Al-Soufi, twenty-one-year-old Hussam Al-Zamli, and Tamr Abu Snina.
These attacks occurred alongside gunfire directed at tents housing displaced persons. In Gaza City, one Palestinian was killed and others injured after a drone strike targeted civilians near the Insurance and Pensions Authority in the Ramal district.
Heavy artillery shelling and gunfire also affected eastern Gaza City, areas in Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Beit Lahiya. A serious escalation occurred when Israeli army drones burned a displaced persons camp at the Shuja’iyya intersection east of Gaza City.
Drones dropped incendiary bombs on tents in the area, causing fires that lasted for hours until past midnight. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing stated that the blaze displaced more than two hundred families, comprising over eight hundred Palestinians.
The fire consumed tents and belongings, leaving families with children, women, the elderly, and patients without alternative shelter. Severe shortages of tents and accommodation supplies forced families to flee in search of safer locations.
This incident coincides with the movement of yellow concrete cubes by Israeli forces toward the western edges of Shuja’iyya. This move targets areas near troop deployment lines, raising fears of expanding restricted zones for Palestinians.
Between October 22 and the early hours of October 26, local reports indicated that twenty-two Palestinians were killed, including three young girls and a woman. These deaths resulted from aerial attacks, gunfire, and artillery shelling across various parts of the strip.
Military movements continue around the so-called Yellow Zone, with concrete blocks being moved toward residential areas. This activity narrows available spaces for residents and increases concerns about forced displacement.
Palestinians face repeated displacement risks as residential areas and tents housing those who lost homes are targeted. The lack of safe alternative sites exacerbates the humanitarian crisis, with worsening health services and infrastructure.
