Gaza Herald – A series of powerful explosions shook Gaza City amid intensive Apache helicopter and drone activity, with Israeli aircraft carrying out strikes in Al-Katiba and Ansar areas.
Local sources reported information about an attempted Israeli special forces infiltration into the area, followed by an exchange of fire. No official confirmation was immediately available regarding the circumstances of the reported operation.
Gaza’s Government Media Office said an Israeli special forces unit attempted to carry out an operation in Gaza City but was detected, prompting Israel to launch an intense aerial attack involving more than 10 aircraft of different types. The strikes killed and injured Palestinians.
Medical sources said several injured Palestinians were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital, while ambulances struggled to reach the targeted area because of the continuing bombardment and gunfire.
Large numbers of displaced Palestinians were also reported to remain trapped inside their tents, facing panic and fear as the strikes continued around them.
Meanwhile, medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that Israeli forces killed a Palestinian child, Israa Al-Hassi, in Deir Al-Balah, outside areas under Israeli military control.
