Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, amid growing indications of a widening gap between declared commitments and their implementation on the ground, while humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate.
According to a report issued by the Government Media Office, 3,269 violations of the ceasefire agreement were recorded during the 245 days since the truce came into effect. The reported violations resulted in the killing of 992 Palestinians and the injury of 3,138 others through ongoing attacks. The report also documented the detention of 95 Palestinians during the ceasefire period as part of continued Israeli violations.
On the humanitarian front, the report highlighted severe restrictions on aid deliveries into Gaza. Only 52,740 aid trucks were allowed to enter the territory out of the 147,000 trucks that were expected to enter by this date, representing a compliance rate of just 36%. The figures reflect the continued limitations on humanitarian assistance despite escalating needs across the enclave.
Regarding travel and movement, Israeli occupation reportedly allowed only 6,845 travelers to leave Gaza through the Rafah border crossing, out of 19,600 Palestinians who were expected to be permitted to travel. This represents a compliance rate of 35%, further limiting access to medical treatment and travel for humanitarian cases.
The report argues that these figures demonstrate a continuing pattern of violations that undermine the effectiveness of the ceasefire agreement and its intended humanitarian provisions.
Palestinian factions called on mediators and guarantors of the agreement to take urgent action to ensure the implementation of all ceasefire terms and halt ongoing violations, holding Israel fully responsible for the continued deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
