Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that 1,258 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire was announced on October 10, with 4,145 others injured and 807 bodies recovered from under the rubble.
Six new injuries were reported at Gaza’s hospitals over the past 24 hours, as Israeli attacks and the continuing humanitarian crisis place further strain on the territory’s already devastated healthcare system.
The ministry warned that additional victims remain trapped beneath destroyed buildings and along roads, where rescue and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them because of dangerous field conditions and ongoing restrictions.
The continued difficulty in recovering bodies raises fears that the death toll could increase further, particularly as thousands remain missing beneath Gaza’s destroyed homes and infrastructure.
Since Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, the reported Palestinian death toll has reached 73,386, while 174,256 Palestinians have been injured.
The figures underscore the enormous human cost of Israel’s prolonged assault on Gaza and the continuing airstrikes despite the declared ceasefire.
For Palestinians, the ceasefire has failed to deliver the safety it promised. Bodies remain beneath the rubble, hospitals remain overwhelmed, and families continue to mourn loved ones killed even after the announcement of a halt to the fighting.
