Two Civilians Killed in Israeli Airstrike in Eastern Gaza Amid Escalating Ceasefire Violations

Gaza Herald – Two Palestinians were killed and several others wounded Thursday in an Israeli airstrike targeting Al-Tuffah Park east of Gaza City, as Israeli forces continued violating the fragile ceasefire across the enclave.

Civil defense officials also confirmed the death of Ahmed Yahya Ahmed Rasras, who succumbed to wounds sustained nearly a month ago in a previous Israeli strike in southern Gaza after his condition deteriorated.

Earlier today, witnesses reported heavy tank fire in central Khan Younis, along with gunfire near the Morag corridor north of Rafah and in northern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp. Israeli artillery shelling intensified in central Khan Younis, while military vehicles opened fire at dawn north of Al-Bureij. Naval vessels also fired toward southern coastal areas, and powerful explosions were heard west of Rafah, reportedly linked to controlled demolitions carried out by Israeli forces.

On Wednesday evening, Hani Abdul Karim Salem Abu Jreiban, 41, was killed in an Israeli strike on the Abu al-Ajeen area east of Deir al-Balah.

Since the ceasefire took effect, Israel has killed 650 Palestinians in reported violations, including 198 children and 85 women, and has injured 1,662 others.

The cumulative toll since October 7, 2023, has surpassed 72,000 killed and nearly 172,000 wounded, with more than 8,000 people still missing.
