Gaza Herald – Israeli forces continued breaching the Gaza ceasefire on Friday for the 132nd consecutive day, carrying out airstrikes, artillery shelling, live fire, and controlled demolitions across multiple areas of the enclave. Local sources reported that Israeli troops detonated residential buildings east of al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, escalating destruction in already devastated neighborhoods.
Israeli naval vessels also opened heavy fire offshore of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while ground forces shot toward eastern sections of the city. Simultaneously, Israeli aircraft conducted two air raids east of Gaza City, accompanied by artillery bombardment, marking another coordinated escalation despite the standing truce.
Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli actions have killed 638 Palestinians, including 197 children and 84 women, and wounded at least 1,630 others, according to local health data. The repeated strikes and demolitions have compounded humanitarian strain in areas struggling with collapsed infrastructure and mass displacement.
Since the genocide began on October 7, 2023, more than 72,000 Palestinians have been killed and approximately 172,000 wounded, with over 8,000 reported missing. Nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, and the United Nations has estimated reconstruction costs at roughly $70 billion, underscoring the scale of devastation facing the territory.
