Israel Pushes “Yellow Line” Deeper Into Gaza

Gaza Herald – Israeli forces have moved the so-called “Yellow Line” deeper inside Gaza, effectively redrawing the boundaries of military control despite the ceasefire, according to satellite-image investigations.

Concrete yellow blocks used to mark the line were relocated multiple times in at least three areas, later pushed further into Gaza, creating confusion and deadly risk for Palestinian civilians.

The line, meant to define Israeli troop positions after the ceasefire, has become fluid on the ground, contradicting the US-brokered agreement that required Israeli forces to withdraw behind fixed, mapped boundaries.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had previously warned that anyone crossing the “Yellow Line” would be shot; since then, dozens of deadly shootings have been recorded near the shifting markers.

Investigators documented the movement of yellow blocks at a minimum of 16 locations, including Beit Lahiya, Jabalia, and Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, with some markers pushed nearly 300 meters deeper into the Strip.

Experts warn the practice amounts to a de facto expansion of Israeli control and the creation of an undeclared “sterile buffer zone,” where the location of concrete blocks, not ceasefire terms, now determines life, death, and civilian safety.
