Gaza Health Ministry Relaunches Emergency Child Vaccination Campaign

Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Health Ministry resumed an emergency catch-up vaccination campaign on Sunday to protect children under the age of three who missed routine immunizations during Israel’s genocide.

The ten-day campaign began on January 18 and is being implemented in coordination with UNRWA, the Palestinian Red Crescent, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization.

Health officials said vaccinations are being administered through approximately 130 medical points across Gaza, including government clinics, UN facilities, and partner institutions.

Parents were urged to bring children who missed one or more doses, particularly those born during or shortly before the genocide, and to present vaccination cards where available.

Officials warned that the destruction of primary healthcare centers severely disrupted routine immunization services, leaving thousands of children vulnerable to preventable diseases.

The campaign follows an earlier round launched in November 2025, as health authorities race to contain long-term public health fallout from the systematic dismantling of Gaza’s medical infrastructure.
