Gaza Ceasefire Fails as Israeli Bombing Continues

Gaza Herald – Israeli bombardment continued across Gaza despite the ceasefire, leaving Palestinians with no tangible relief as destruction, displacement, and fear remain daily realities across the enclave.

Since the ceasefire took effect in October, Israeli attacks have killed at least 463 Palestinians, with further fatalities reported following the announcement of the second phase of Washington’s Gaza plan earlier this week. Airstrikes and shelling have persisted, even as their intensity fluctuated.

Entire neighborhoods remain flattened, with families moving through rubble and temporary shelters battered by winter weather. Recent air attacks destroyed homes in central Gaza, adding to the toll of Palestinian killed and deepening mass displacement.

According to United Nations assessments, more than 80 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed. Water and electricity systems have collapsed, waste services are nonfunctional, hospitals operate at minimal capacity, and education has effectively ceased, while children face severe psychological trauma after more than two years of genocide.

With aid restricted and living conditions deteriorating, Palestinians said the ceasefire exists only on paper. For Gaza’s population, survival continues under bombardment, displacement, and deprivation, underscoring that the genocidal war on Gaza has not ended, it has merely changed its pace.
