“Prisoners Media Office” Reveals Circumstances of 86 Palestinian Prisoners’ Death in Israeli Prisons

Gaza Herald – The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that 86 Palestinian detainees died in Israeli prisons between October 15, 2023, and December 10, 2025, citing a “disturbing pattern” of torture, medical neglect, and enforced disappearance.

According to the report, 47 deaths were primarily caused by torture and beatings, often coupled with medical neglect. Another 41 prisoners died from untreated illnesses, including cancer, diabetes, disabilities, and previous injuries.

At least 22 detainees were subjected to enforced disappearance during imprisonment or until their deaths were announced. Two prisoners were used as human shields, and two others were executed by direct gunfire.

Most deaths occurred inside Israeli prisons, including Ofer, Megiddo, Negev, Ramla, Sde Teyman, and Janot, while ten prisoners died in hospitals such as Rambam, Soroka, Meir, and Shaare Zedek. Several cases fell under multiple categories, particularly torture and medical neglect.

The report called for immediate international investigations, accountability for Israeli officials, and the return of prisoners’ bodies to their families. Human rights groups warn that Israel continues to conceal the true number of Palestinian prisoner deaths and the causes behind them.
