Two Palestinians Killed, Six Israeli Soldiers Wounded in West Bank Shooting

Gaza Herald –  Israeli forces killed two Palestinians following a shooting attack that wounded six Israeli soldiers, two of them critically, near al-Khalil (Hebron) in the southern occupied West Bank on Friday, according to Israeli military statements and media reports.

Israel’s Channel 14 reported that the shooting targeted a military watchtower near the Telem settlement, while the Hebrew-language Walla website identified the wounded soldiers as members of a reserve battalion affiliated with Israel’s Home Front Command.

Following the attack, Israeli forces deployed reinforcements, closed roads, and imposed a security cordon around several Palestinian villages near al-Khalil. The Israeli military subsequently announced that it had killed two Palestinians it said were responsible for the shooting, while search operations continued across the area.

The identities of the two Palestinians and the precise circumstances of their deaths have not been independently verified.

Palestinian factions, including Hamas, Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and the Popular Resistance Committees, issued statements welcoming the operation and describing it as a response to Israeli military raids, settler attacks, and continuing violence against Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions across the occupied West Bank, where Israeli military operations, arrests, movement restrictions, and settler attacks have continued to affect Palestinian communities.
