Gaza Herald – Civil Defense teams in Gaza City recovered 14 victims on Monday from beneath the rubble of the Salem family home, which was destroyed by the Israeli occupation during its genocidal assault on the city.
Rescue crews said the recovery operation was carried out under extremely dangerous conditions and with severely limited resources, as teams continue humanitarian efforts to retrieve victims’ bodies trapped under collapsed homes and provide dignified burials.
Earlier today, Gaza’s Civil Defense officially launched large-scale recovery operations across destroyed residential areas, with participation from medical, forensic, religious, and emergency response bodies, as well as families of the killed.
Search efforts are also focused on other collapsed homes, including Abu Ramadan family house, where around 60 Palestinians, including children, women, and elderly people, are believed to be buried. Teams are operating with basic hand tools while urgently needing heavy machinery to recover thousands of remaining bodies.
Civil Defense officials stressed that the Israeli occupation has destroyed nearly all rescue capabilities in Gaza, forcing crews to work under rubble at constant risk, while calling on families to assist with identification, as many bodies are expected to be decomposed or reduced to remains due to the massive explosives used.
