Gaza Herald – Local reports said three multi-story buildings collapsed in Gaza City, in Tel Al-Hawa near Carrefour, in Al-Shati Camp, and in Al-Nasr, after heavy rains pounded the region. One home belonging to the Al-Baghdadi family, reportedly three floors high, was completely brought down by the storm.
At the same time, humanitarian agencies and civil defense teams reported that nearly 90% of displacement tents across the Strip have been flooded or destroyed amid a deep winter front, worsening conditions for families already enduring what Palestinian human rights groups describe as an ongoing genocide by the Israeli occupation. The storm has already claimed the life of an infant in Khan Younis due to severe cold.
Civil defense teams said they have received over 2,500 distress calls within hours as emergency crews race to evacuate displaced families across Gaza. The combination of extreme weather, continuous violations of the ceasefire by the Israeli occupation, and widespread destruction has pushed living conditions to a breaking point.
