Gaza Herald – Occupation bulldozers started digging a new road between the villages of Tura and Um Dar west of Jenin, according to Quds News Network. This development coincides with documented attacks against olive harvesters across the occupied West Bank.
Local sources stated that the machinery began work on lands situated between the two villages. Residents expressed concerns regarding the project’s impact on their agricultural plots and potential land confiscation.
The network reported that these actions are part of broader settlement expansion aimed at seizing Palestinian territory. The new infrastructure facilitates movement for settlers while restricting access for local farmers to their own lands.
Data collected from the field indicates that thirteen incidents occurred involving occupation forces and settlers during recent hours. These events targeted individuals harvesting olives as well as their agricultural property and crops.
Reports confirm injuries sustained by farmers and solidarity activists during these clashes. Authorities arrested one citizen and detained others involved in the harvesting activities near the affected areas.
The violence included physical assaults, theft of harvested crops, and destruction of picking equipment. Several vehicles used for transporting produce were also damaged or destroyed during the confrontations.
Settlers prevented farmers from accessing specific fields where olive trees grow. A new illegal outpost was established directly within cultivated land, further complicating efforts to reach the orchards safely.
These disturbances occur during the annual olive harvest season, which faces increasing restrictions on farmer mobility. Attacks on people, crops, and tools threaten the livelihoods of families dependent on this seasonal income.
The construction of the road linking settlements continues alongside intensified attempts to control Palestinian land. Such measures limit the ability of owners to utilize and protect their agricultural resources effectively.
Expansion projects in Jenin governorate include seizing land and building roads connecting colonies and outposts. This strategy poses a direct threat to Palestinian territorial continuity and ownership rights.
Witnesses noted that the timing of the road dig aligns with heightened security operations in the region. Farmers face daily obstacles preventing them from completing the harvest before weather conditions worsen.
