CNN Exposes Israeli Bulldozers Burying Bodies of Palestinian Martyrs in Gaza

Gaza Herald — CNN has published a detailed investigative report exposing how Israeli bulldozers buried the bodies of Palestinian martyrs in the Gaza Strip during the past two years of Israel’s ongoing war of extermination.

The report includes high-resolution video, satellite analysis, and expert testimony that collectively shed light on yet another disturbing practice carried out under Israeli military operations.

A body buried twice

The central footage in CNN’s investigation captures a body wrapped in white cloth being dragged across dirt before an Israeli bulldozer covers it with soil.
Moments later, a team from the International Committee of the Red Cross reaches the location, retrieves the same body, and transfers it into a designated transport bag.

Israeli officials told CNN the operation was part of an effort to locate and identify the remains of soldiers killed in Gaza. Yet they did not explain why a civilian body appeared at the supposed excavation site or why it was hastily reburied just before the Red Cross arrived.

The Red Cross stated it had no prior knowledge that the body had already been buried and clarified that its role at such sites is strictly limited to transporting remains that Israeli forces “discover,” without participating in or monitoring the digging process.

Satellite imagery reveals a planned operation.

CNN investigators matched the video with aerial footage and satellite data from the same day, pinpointing the site near the Zikim crossing, only a few hundred meters from the separation fence.

The images revealed multiple bulldozers and engineering units operating in the same area over several consecutive days, evidence that this was a pre-planned, coordinated operation, not an improvised response.

The investigation adds that the same region has frequently been filled with civilians during aid-distribution moments, raising fears that more bodies may have been buried there.

Violation of international humanitarian rules

Experts in international humanitarian law interviewed by CNN stressed that burying bodies using heavy machinery without documentation of identity, cause of death, or burial location constitutes a serious breach of the laws governing the treatment of the dead in wartime.

One specialist noted that proper handling requires documenting the location, photographing the body, identifying physical markers, and notifying families through official medical channels.
The act of burying a body only to exhume it a few minutes later, he said, reflects a “total absence of humanitarian standards.”

Signs of manipulating the scene

Palestinian authorities told CNN they suspect Israeli forces may have been trying to craft a misleading scene, one suggesting soldiers’ remains were present, or to obscure previous killings.

CNN found that the body had already been wrapped and prepared for transfer before it was dragged into the pit and buried, raising further doubts about Israel’s stated narrative.
Military analysts added that dragging a corpse across the ground contradicts all known procedures for recovering human remains, which rely on meticulous handling, not excavation and reburial.

Families left in anguish

Palestinian families who have spent months searching for missing relatives told CNN the investigation intensified their fear that bodies are being moved or buried without any record, preventing families from ever locating their loved ones.

Some said the videos “deepened the wound,” stressing that they deserve transparency about where bodies are taken and who is deciding their burial.

Human-rights specialists warn that these practices could amount to grave violations of international humanitarian law, particularly when carried out without necessity, without supervision, and without even the most basic documentation.
