Pregnant Woman, Child Killed as Israel Bombs “Safe Zone” in Al-Mawasi

Gaza Herald – Israeli forces have once again struck Gaza’s so-called “safe humanitarian zone,” bombing a family’s tent in Al-Mawasi, southern Gaza. The attack killed a seven-months-pregnant mother and her child, while leaving the father critically wounded.

The strike underscores a grim reality: no place in Gaza is safe. Al-Mawasi, designated by Israel itself as a “humanitarian refuge,” has repeatedly been bombed, turning shelters for displaced families into death traps.

Beyond Al-Mawasi, Israeli forces have carried out additional assaults in central Gaza’s Bureij and intensified their campaign in Gaza City, wiping out residential blocks and expanding their ground presence in neighborhoods such as Tal al-Hawa and Nassr. Overnight, at least 17 Palestinians were killed across different areas of the Strip, adding to the mounting toll of civilian casualties.

Dozens of Palestinians remain trapped under the rubble, as civil defense and rescue crews struggle to reach them amid relentless bombardment.
