Gaza Herald – In the early hours of Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out a horrific massacre targeting displaced Palestinians, while also demolishing residential buildings across Gaza City as part of their ongoing campaign of destruction and forced displacement.
According to Palestinian media, at least 20 people were killed, the majority of them women and children, and dozens more were wounded when Israeli warplanes struck a building sheltering displaced families near the Firas Market in Gaza City.
The Palestinian Ambulance and Emergency Service had earlier confirmed seven killed and dozens injured in the same attack. Footage and photographs from the scene showed children and women among the dead, their bodies wrapped in white shrouds, while medics rushed to evacuate the wounded.
In a separate strike, Israeli warplanes bombed the vicinity of the Yarmouk Market, killing one woman and injuring several others. Another air raid on al-Sahaba Street targeted a home, leaving two Palestinians dead and more wounded.
Overnight and into the morning, western and southern neighborhoods of Gaza City endured relentless bombardment, with artillery and air strikes shaking entire districts. Residents reported Israeli forces firing flares over al-Nasr and Tel al-Hawa, turning the night sky into scenes of terror.
On the ground, Israeli occupation forces also used explosive-laden vehicles to demolish homes in Sheikh Radwan and al-Jalaa Street in northern Gaza, part of what Palestinians describe as a systematic effort to erase entire neighborhoods and terrorize civilians into flight.
This latest massacre underscores the intensifying Israeli campaign to empty Gaza City of its population through mass killings, bombardment, and destruction, leaving civilians with no safe refuge.
