Gaza Herald – Dozens of Palestinians, including children and women, were killed and many more were injured during Israeli air and drone strikes across Gaza on Friday night. Residential areas, displaced tents, and public infrastructure were hit, leaving families trapped and terrified.
High-rise buildings were toppled, homes reduced to rubble, and even tents that housed displaced families were destroyed. In Dier al-Balah, a tent housing refugees near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital was hit by an Israeli airstrike, while Israeli drones opened fire on northern Gaza neighborhoods, illustrating the deliberate targeting of civilians.
According to Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal, the attacks left residents scrambling for safety amid chaos, with hospitals overwhelmed by casualties.
Gaza has been under an ongoing genocide for over 707 days, with more than 64,700 Palestinians killed since the start of the genocide, including over 20,000 children and 12,500 women. Over 163,800 have been injured and more than 9,000 remain missing beneath the rubble. Entire neighborhoods have been flattened, schools and mosques destroyed, and more than 77% of Gaza remains under Israeli control. Starvation and displacement have become systematic tools in this campaign of annihilation.
The Israeli occupation carries out these attacks to force residents into so-called “safe” displacement zones, which are essentially traps, yet the people respond by refusing to evacuate under any conditions imposed by Israel.
