Gaza Herald- The Hamas Movement has informed mediators on Monday that it approves the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal.
The new ceasefire proposal was put forward by Egypt and Qatar, the two countries leading mediation efforts between the Movement and Israel.
A Hamas source told Al Jazeera: “We informed the mediators of our approval of their proposal, which was presented yesterday.”
The officials did not provide further details at this time.
The move came as Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo to discuss the push for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The latest proposal was presented to the Movement the day before and was a revised version of Hamas’ latest response, which involved a framework agreement for a 60-day ceasefire and a two-step release of Israeli captives.
Egyptian and Qatari mediators were holding talks with Hamas in their latest effort to broker a ceasefire with Israel in the Gaza Strip.
