Gaza Herald- An elderly Palestinian man has lost his life after being struck by an aid box that fell onto a tent sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to medical staff at Nasser Hospital.
In recent weeks, several Palestinians have been killed or injured in similar incidents as air-dropped aid pallets landed unpredictably across the besieged territory.
Humanitarian organizations have repeatedly warned that such airdrops are not only ineffective but also extremely dangerous, especially in a place where over two million people are enduring famine conditions. These groups continue to stress that the only safe and effective way to deliver life-saving assistance is through land crossings, which Israel continues to restrict.
The tragedy highlights the cruel irony of a population starved by siege being placed at risk even in the act of receiving aid. For Palestinians in Gaza, what should be a lifeline has become yet another source of fear and death, underscoring the urgent need for sustained and unhindered humanitarian access.
