Gaza Herald- In May 2025, the genocide in Gaza, Palestine, escalated in a chilling new direction as Israeli authorities moved to dismantle the United Nations–led humanitarian relief system and replace it with a militarized food distribution program controlled by an unfamiliar entity, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). All four GHF distribution points are located inside zones under complete Israeli military authority and are “secured” by private US armed contractors.
The new report from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), titled This Is Not Aid. This Is Orchestrated Killing draws on clinical data, the testimonies of patients, and first-hand accounts from medical staff to expose how the so-called “aid” programs, in reality, a system engineered to enforce starvation and strip Palestinians of their dignity. MSF has demanded the immediate dismantling of the GHF mechanism and has urged governments and private donors to refuse funding for what it calls a deadly trap.
MSF operates two primary healthcare centers southern Gaza situated near GHF distribution locations. Between 7 June and 24 July 2025, these facilities treated 1,380 people injured in incidents at the sites and received 28 dead bodies, which represent only a fraction of the total number of casualties. The centers oximity to the distribution zones is such that they now place orders for body bags twice a week.
During the seven weeks from June to July 2025, MSF staff treated 174 people for gunshot wounds linked to GHF sites. A staggering 96 per cent of the wounded were young men, reflecting a grim survival tactic as families send their strongest members to face the dangers of retrieving food. Most arrive covered in sand and dust after lying prone to shield themselves from live fire.
Patients coming from the Khan Younis distribution point (SDS3) frequently suffered precise gunshot wounds to the lower limbs, injuries that, according to MSF, strongly suggest intentional targeting of individuals rather than random or indiscriminate shooting. Of the 28 bodies received by MSF centers, all but one were young men, aged roughly between 20 and 30, with fatal gunshot wounds to the upper body.
MSF’s findings provide damning evidence that this so-called “aid” system is being weaponizeds a tool of war, combining starvation, lethal force, and deliberate targeting to further the destruction of Gaza’s population. By replacing neutral humanitarian relief with a mimilitarized deadly scheme, Israel is not merely failing to meet its obligations under international law; it is actively violating them. The report serves as an urgent call for the international community to act decisively to halt these atrocities and hold those responsible accountable for crimes against humanity.
