Starved from Birth: 40,000 Gaza Infants Face Death Without Formula

Gaza Herald– The Government Media Office in Gaza has issued a dire warning of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe endangering the lives of tens of thousands of infants in the besieged Strip, as Israel continues to block the entry of baby formula for 150 consecutive days.

In an official statement, the office described Israel’s ongoing prevention of baby formula and humanitarian aid from entering Gaza as a “silent act of genocide.”

The statement noted that over 40,000 infants under the age of one are now facing the threat of slow death due to the suffocating Israeli blockade. It called for the immediate and unconditional opening of border crossings and the urgent entry of infant formula and humanitarian relief.

The statement also mentioned that while 73 aid trucks had recently entered the northern and southern parts of the Strip, most were looted under the watch of Israeli forces.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that children in Gaza are suffering acutely from hunger, stating that “boys and girls are risking their lives in search of food instead of going to school.”

With the collapse of healthcare, the spread of disease, and widespread malnutrition, aid organizations are warning that the survival of Gaza’s youngest generation is at grave risk unless urgent international intervention is taken to restore humanitarian access and stop Israel’s systematic starvation policy.
