Civil Defense: 29 Palestinians Killed in Gaza During Eid Holiday

Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Civil Defense announced on Saturday that 29 Palestinians have been killed during the days of Eid al-Adha as a result of continued Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, including a significant number of women and children, amid ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025.

Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said Palestinians are experiencing “new chapters of pain and loss” during what should have been days of celebration, family gatherings, and peace.

“The scenes on the ground reflect the scale of the humanitarian suffering facing civilians throughout the Gaza Strip,” Basal said in a press statement.

Despite severe shortages of equipment, resources, and operational capacity, Civil Defense crews have continued to carry out rescue missions across the territory. Basal noted that teams responded to nine separate incidents on Saturday alone, recovering victims from beneath rubble, rescuing the injured, and evacuating civilians from dangerous areas.

He said emergency workers are operating under extremely difficult conditions as humanitarian needs continue to far exceed the capabilities of Gaza’s already strained service and relief sectors.

Basal stressed that the continued killing of civilians, particularly children and women, places an urgent moral and humanitarian responsibility on the international community.

He renewed calls on the United Nations, international mediators, and relevant parties to take immediate action to protect civilians and halt attacks against them.

The Civil Defense also appealed for the provision of essential supplies and equipment needed to sustain humanitarian and emergency services, enabling rescue teams to save lives, protect property, and alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s population.

Meanwhile, local sources reported that fresh Israeli ceasefire violations on Saturday resulted in the killing of two additional Palestinians and injuries to several others.

Israel has continued attacks across the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire and war-ending agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on October 10, 2025, through Arab and U.S. mediation, following two years of devastating war.

According to the latest figures released by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11 has risen to 929, while 2,811 others have been injured.

The attacks’ cumulative statistics indicate that since the start of Israel’s genocide on Gaza on October 7, 2023, at least 72,819 Palestinians have been killed and 172,894 wounded, reflecting the immense human toll of the ongoing war.
