Day 198: Child Dies of Wounds Amid Escalating Israeli Ceasefire Violations in Gaza

Gaza Herald- Israeli forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip for the 198th consecutive day, amid ongoing field escalation that includes demolitions and explosions targeting homes and residential buildings across various parts of the territory.

Medical and local sources reported that the child Duaa Mohammed Suleiman Rahim died on Saturday morning from wounds she sustained days earlier after being shot by Israeli forces west of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

On Friday, the death toll reached 13, including a woman and three children, along with several injuries—some critical—as a result of a series of Israeli ceasefire violations.

In field developments, Israeli military vehicles opened fire Saturday morning toward the eastern areas of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Artillery shelling and gunfire also targeted eastern areas of Khan Younis in the south, with renewed attacks reported in multiple locations.

Israeli naval boats shelled the coast of Gaza City, while occupation forces carried out demolition operations using explosives against civilian structures east of the city.

Heavy drone activity was reported over Khan Younis, coinciding with gunfire from military vehicles deployed around the city.

These developments come despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025, brokered by Arab and American mediators after two years of war on the Gaza Strip.

According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of fatalities since the ceasefire began has risen to 791, with 2,235 injuries. The overall toll since October 7, 2023, has reached approximately 72,568 killed and 172,338 injured.
