Eight Killed in Israeli Airstrike on Police Vehicle in Central Gaza

Gaza Herald- Eight people were killed Sunday evening after an Israeli airstrike targeted a police vehicle near the entrance of Al-Zawayda town in central Gaza, according to local sources.

Witnesses said Israeli aircraft struck a police jeep along Salah al-Din Road, leaving eight officers killed and several others injured. Gaza’s Interior Ministry confirmed the attack, stating that the strike occurred near the main entrance to Al-Zawayda in the central governorate.

Earlier in the day, four civilians, including a father, mother, and their son, were killed in a separate Israeli strike in central Gaza. Medical officials said Kamel Ayash, his wife Halima, their son Ahmed, and a neighboring child were killed when Israeli forces bombed the Al-Sawarha area of the Nuseirat refugee camp.

In another case, Wafi Talal Ibrahim Al-Desouqi died from injuries he sustained in an earlier strike on January 30 in Khan Younis, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense.

Israeli forces continue to carry out daily airstrikes and artillery shelling across the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025.

The Gaza Health Ministry said Saturday that since the ceasefire began, at least 663 people have been killed and 1,762 injured, while 756 bodies have been recovered from the rubble.
