Gaza Herald – The Gaza Strip faces a severe escalation in its domestic fuel crisis as Israeli authorities prevent any cooking gas trucks from entering the enclave, Palestinian Petroleum Authority officials confirmed.
The complete halt in deliveries has left hundreds of thousands of families scrambling for limited supplies, deepening shortages already described as critical. According to the authority, only 20% of the monthly gas demand has been allowed in since the ceasefire went into effect, forcing residents to rely on dwindling reserves for basic cooking and heating needs.
The blockade comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations that have killed 648 Palestinians, including 198 children and 85 women, and injured 1,662 others since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025. Since the start of the genocidal war on October 7, 2023, over 72,000 civilians have been killed, nearly 172,000 wounded, and more than 8,000 remain missing.
The Palestinian authorities warned that continued restrictions on fuel deliveries risk triggering widespread humanitarian collapse, leaving vulnerable households without the most basic means to cook food or stay warm, intensifying an already dire public health emergency.
This deliberate obstruction of essential fuel supplies underscores the ongoing human toll of Israel’s occupation and blockade policies, which have systematically targeted civilian infrastructure and worsened Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe.
