Gaza Sends Sixth Batch of Patients Abroad via Rafah Crossing

Gaza Herald – The sixth group of injured and sick Palestinians left Gaza on Monday morning via the Rafah border crossing, traveling to Egypt for urgent medical treatment. Buses carried the patients from the Red Crescent headquarters in Khan Younis to the crossing, under close coordination with the World Health Organization.

Since the partial reopening last week, about 190 patients and their family members have crossed, despite Israeli restrictions and procedural delays. The transfers prioritized critically ill patients with no treatment options inside Gaza’s collapsing healthcare system.

Gaza’s Health Ministry warned that more than 22,000 patients remain in urgent need of travel, including roughly 4,500 children whose conditions require immediate evacuation. The ongoing bottleneck underscores the fragile humanitarian lifeline amid Israel’s tight control over crossings.
