Israeli Fire Kills Woman in Khan Younis, Death Toll Hits 11 in First 24 Hours of Ceasefire Phase 2

Gaza Herald – A Palestinian woman was killed early Friday after Israeli forces opened fire in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, in the latest deadly breach of the ceasefire. Local sources said Sabah Ahmad Ali Abu Jameh, 62, was shot when Israeli military vehicles fired indiscriminately toward areas west of the city, with bullets reaching displacement tents.

Israeli forces continued artillery shelling south of Khan Younis and opened fire north of Rafah, witnesses reported, extending a pattern of near-daily violations since the ceasefire took effect.

On Thursday, Israeli air raids across Gaza killed at least 10 Palestinians, according to medical sources. Three people were killed when a home belonging to al-Khatib family was struck in al-Nuseirat refugee camp, including Ashraf al-Khatib and his wife.

In a separate attack, three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a police checkpoint near al-Nabulsi intersection, southwest of Gaza City. Emergency crews transferred the dead and wounded to nearby hospitals.

Meanwhile, two additional bodies were recovered from the yard of a home belonging to the Jarrou family in Deir al-Balah following an earlier Israeli strike, raising the cumulative toll from recent attacks.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said Israel has committed 1,244 ceasefire violations since October 10, including live fire on civilians, air and artillery strikes, and widespread demolition. Since the ceasefire, at least 451 Palestinians have been killed and 1,251 wounded, while the overall death toll since October 2023 has reached 71,441, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
