Gaza Herald – The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office reported that female inmates in Israel’s Damon prison faced brutal treatment throughout December, including physical assaults and forced removal of their headscarves. Several women suffered injuries during these attacks, highlighting ongoing mistreatment.
Hamas condemned the abuses, describing them as a “flagrant violation of all human laws and norms.” The statement detailed that women were taken to prison courtyards, forced to sit on the ground, stripped of their veils, beaten, and subjected to dogs and stun grenades.
Rights groups and advocates warned that such systematic mistreatment of female Palestinian prisoners constitutes severe human rights violations. They called for international intervention to ensure the protection and humane treatment of all detainees.
