Gaza Herald – Heavy rains battered the Gaza Strip, flooding the makeshift tents of displaced families left homeless by two years of Israel’s genocidal war. This came while Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on Rafah in southern Gaza on Wednesday morning.
The relentless rainfall worsened living conditions for thousands, submerging the flimsy tents that had been erected after widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure. Displaced families struggled to stay dry and preserve what little they had as military operations continued across multiple fronts in Gaza.
The ongoing ceasefire, now in its 76th day, has failed to protect civilians fully. While international discussions continue regarding Hamas disarmament and administrative governance in Gaza, no meaningful progress has been made, leaving thousands exposed to both violence and environmental hazards.
The combination of Israeli bombardment and severe flooding underscores the acute vulnerability of Gaza’s displaced population, highlighting the critical need for emergency shelter, relief materials, and humanitarian intervention to prevent further loss of life.
