Israel Releases 11 Detainees From Gaza in Critical Condition

Gaza Herald – Eleven Palestinian detainees from Gaza were released on Wednesday evening from Israeli occupation prisons and transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza in severe health condition, according to local sources.

The released detainees were transported by the International Committee of the Red Cross from the Kissufim crossing, east of Deir al-Balah, after months of detention in Israeli prisons and holding facilities. Medical teams said the men arrived visibly exhausted and in urgent need of treatment and comprehensive medical examinations.

Sources reported that the detainees showed clear signs of torture, humiliation, and prolonged deprivation of food during their imprisonment, reflecting a pattern repeatedly documented in Israeli occupation detention centers holding Palestinians from Gaza.

The release was part of limited and irregular detainee releases carried out by the Israel, following months of enforced disappearance and incommunicado detention. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have abducted thousands of Palestinians from Gaza, including civilians and displaced people, many of whom remain held in Israeli prisons and military camps under harsh and degrading conditions, with their fate still unknown.
