Israel Escalates Deadly Ceasefire Violations in Gaza

Gaza Herald – Israeli warplanes carried out a series of violent airstrikes targeting eastern Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip, striking a site in al-Zeitoun neighborhood and another near al-Shuja’iyya intersection. Massive explosions echoed across the city as Israeli occupation forces continued their systematic violations of the ceasefire, repeatedly bombing eastern areas of the besieged enclave.

These attacks came as Gaza faces a deepening humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel’s ongoing genocide. Homes weakened by months of bombardment are collapsing one after another, while civil defense teams continue desperate efforts to recover the bodies of Palestinians killed in the genocide from beneath the rubble, an operation launched earlier this week amid severe shortages of equipment.

Hospitals reported a rise in hypothermia injuries, particularly at Al-Rantisi and Al-Nasr hospitals, as displaced families endure harsh winter conditions in flooded and unsafe shelters. Palestinian official Ghazi Hamad warned that Israeli occupation violations pose a serious threat to the Gaza ceasefire, while Civil Defense officials cautioned that thousands of damaged homes could collapse at any moment, endangering countless lives.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, at least 393 Palestinians have been killed. Overall, Israel’s genocide has resulted in more than 239,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority women and children, alongside over 11,000 missing, mass displacement, famine-related deaths, and near-total destruction across Gaza’s cities and neighborhoods.
