Israeli Navy Opens Fire at Displaced Families’ Tents in Rafah

Gaza Herald – Israeli naval forces opened fire on the tents of displaced Palestinians along the coastline of Rafah on Monday evening, in yet another violation of the ceasefire in place since October 10. Families sheltering on the beach reported moments of panic as bullets struck the area surrounding their makeshift tents.

In northern Gaza, Israeli forces shot two Palestinians after claiming they crossed the so-called “yellow line.” Meanwhile in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, a young man was killed by an Israeli quadcopter drone near the designated line, marking yet another lethal attack against unarmed civilians.

In Gaza City’s Shujaiya neighborhood, Israeli artillery heavily shelled civilian homes west of the yellow line, triggering a new wave of displacement as large numbers of families fled their tents near the Shujaiya junction.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said Israel has carried out 591 ceasefire violations, killing 357 Palestinians and injuring 903. The violations include 164 direct shootings at civilians and shelters, 25 incursions, and 280 air, ground, and artillery strikes, a sustained campaign of violence that continues to target displaced families and residential areas despite the declared ceasefire.
