+13,000 Gaza Families Hit by Flooding Amid Extreme Humanitarian Collapse

Gaza Herald – The United Nations says more than 13,000 families in Gaza have been affected by severe rainfall in recent days, with thousands losing the little they had left as storms flooded tents, destroyed makeshift shelters, and washed away their remaining belongings.

The UN warns that displaced families already enduring genocide and siege are now facing a new layer of disaster with no protection from the cold or the flooding.

For two days, heavy rain has drenched displacement camps across Gaza, collapsing tents, soaking blankets, and leaving children shivering on mud floors. With Israel blocking all tents, tarps, and shelter materials, families have been forced to survive in waterlogged, freezing conditions.

Humanitarian groups warn of rising disease, hypothermia, and deadly winter risks for infants, the sick, and the elderly as Gaza’s displaced population remains exposed to the elements with nowhere safe to go.
